SUMMARY:Día de Muertos: Art\, Memory & Making with Cal Duran
DESCRIPTION:Join featured artist Cal Duran for a creative and cultural exploration of Día de los Muertos. Participants will begin with a blessing of the space and an introduction to Cal’s artwork before learning about the meaning\, history\, and symbolism of the ofrenda\, an important tradition honoring loved ones who have passed. \nAfter exploring these cultural traditions\, attendees will create their own air-dry clay sugar skull to take home. This interactive workshop combines storytelling\, artistic expression\, and hands-on learning in a welcoming environment for families\, friends\, and community members. \nChildren ages 7 and older are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult. Whether you’re attending as a family or on your own\, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Día de los Muertos traditions while creating a meaningful work of art. \nNo prior art experience is necessary.
