SUMMARY:First Friday and Opening Celebration of Here and Now\, Then and Always
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of Here and Now\, Then and Always\, a new exhibition featuring the Fine Arts Center Museum’s permanent collection alongside new commissions by Colorado artists. \nHear from the exhibition curators\, explore the galleries\, and discover how artists across generations have engaged with place\, identity\, community\, and change in the region now called Colorado. \nExperience The Truth About 250-150\, an Indigenous-led mobile exhibition centered on history\, truth\, and healing. The visiting exhibition features Native artists alongside new youth art\, including bison sculptures. \nThe evening also includes a performance by Machete Garcia\, an interdisciplinary artist\, musician\, and writer whose work draws on Indigenous knowledge and the natural world. Garcia’s work explores decolonization\, dismantling white supremacy\, and protecting the earth\, with a belief in the power of art and education to advance peace and equity. \nAdmission is free\, and RSVPs are encouraged. Your RSVP includes access to the opening celebration\, First Friday activities\, and all museum galleries. \nHere and Now\, Then and Always is on view in the El Pomar Galleries from Oct. 2\, 2026\, through Feb. 27\, 2027. \nRSVP
