DESCRIPTION:Activated by Thaddeus Tukes \nIn conjunction with the museum’s presentation of Maria Gaspar’s 60 hour and 20-minute video\, Clamour (2022)\, please join us for a special performance of We Lit a Fire and Trusted the Heat (After Angela Davis) by Gaspar and activated by musician Thaddeus Tukes. In the performance\, Tukes plays a variety of percussive instruments\, including Gaspar’s sonic sculpture made of iron bars salvaged from the demolition of two housing blocks formerly operated by the Cook County Department of Corrections in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.
