Steven Durow creates large-scale sculptures and installations using glass, stone, steel, wood and works on paper. Durow disrupts the typical associations of glass by making works that communicate ideas of weightiness and mass, or that feature raw, pitted surfaces that can speak to ideas about entropy and loss. This emerging artist is creating a new series of large-scale sculpture, ethereal, introspective works that investigate his alternately idyllic and traumatic childhood and upbringing – his family tree.
