Join us on Friday, June 28th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in our Deco Lounge for an artist talk with the featured artist, Kevin Pernaud. Learn about his art, process, and inspiration.
About Kevin: Kevin Shinelikar Persaud studies identity through expressionist abstract paintings he calls double conscious jazz. Vulnerability as strength. Feelings and ideas in a tactile, frenetic form. Primal, dumb, layered but always telling a story.
Bronx born to immigrant parents, Kevin Shinelikar Persaud has done a lot. In 2005 Kevin was awarded Gold Key for Scholastics Art and Writing for Colorado and Silver Key in its national spot while still in high school. He continued his education in advertising at Academy of Art University in San Francisco and later switched his major to fine art. His studies continued at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and further at Colorado Film School. Kevin gained small notoriety in the poetry community as Sisyphus Thunderclap. After several years away from art he’s returned and is doing his best to nurture his passions.
