Adolf Dehn and the American Land

FAC Legacy Series

December 9, 2017 - March 18, 2018

An installment in the FAC Legacy Series, this exhibition will feature modernist Adolf Dehn, an important figure in the history of the FAC and who taught at the Broadmoor Art Academy in the 1930s. Equally well known for landscapes and cityscapes, Dehn was an extensive national and international traveler and depicted the sublime drama of the Pikes Peak region, as well as rural and urban environments from all over the world. This exhibition highlights Dehn’s work throughout America, captured in various media and emphasizing his time in Colorado.

Curated by Dr. Henry Adams, Ruth Coulter Heede Professor of Art History, Case Western Reserve University
