The Fine Arts Center’s collection of Hispanic art encompasses art created in the regions of Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and by Latino artists based in the United States. Works by some of the most vibrant and eloquent artistic voices in Hispanic America are featured in this gallery. This talented group of artists explores issues of race, religion, politics, and popular culture. While the artistic evolution of Latin America has been marked by international styles and movements, mostly of U.S. and European origin, the artists’ personal histories and cultural backgrounds have inspired distinctive forms of expression.
