This presentation highlights significant works of Native American art and their influence on seminal works by Dale Chihuly. The development of his creative process and complex technique began with works such as his famous Navajo Cylinders and Basket series. Chihuly is famous for his elegant hand-blown glass creations. He has pushed the boundaries of the medium to never before imagined expressions such as the Orange Hornet Chandelier, the Persian and Macchia series. The strength of form and design drawn from Native American works was one of Chihuly’s driving forces in reinvigorating and re-imagining the media of glass.
