Donating Art

How do I donate a work of art to the museum?

We appreciate your generosity and consideration. Gifts have been a fundamental part of the growth of the collection since the Fine Arts Center’s founding in 1936.

The FAC Collection is focused upon art of the Americas from prehistoric cultures to contemporary art. The collection emphasizes art of the American Southwest, Rocky Mountains, and American modern and contemporary art with select exceptional examples of European art. Given the FAC’s commitment to actively collecting, preserving, and interpreting the art in our collection, the Curators and Museum Committee are extremely selective in our accession of art, carefully considering each object to determine if the work fits the current and future goals for the collection.

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College does not accept unsolicited donations of artwork or other materials, whether delivered in person, left on the premises, or sent by mail or courier. Do not send or drop off materials without prior written confirmation from the FAC. The FAC assumes no responsibility for unsolicited materials and makes no commitment to store, safeguard, insure, return, or acknowledge them. Unsolicited materials may be returned at the sender’s expense, retained, or disposed of at the FAC’s sole discretion.
