Donating Art

How do I donate a work of art to the museum?

We appreciate your generosity and consideration. Gifts have been a fundamental part of the growth of the collection over the last 70 years.

The FAC Collection is focused upon art of the Americas from prehistoric cultures to contemporary art. The collection emphasizes art of the American Southwest, Rocky Mountains, and American modern and contemporary art with select exceptional examples of European art. Given the FAC’s commitment to actively collecting, preserving, and interpreting the art in our collection, the Curators and Museum Committee are extremely selective in our accession of art, carefully considering each object to determine if the work fits the current and future goals for the collection.

All proposed gifts to the Museum’s collection go through a process of review and approval by Museum committees. In order to propose a work for the Museum, please contact the Museum’s Administrative Assistant, Stormy Burns, at sbburns@coloradocollege.edu or (719) 477-4323. We ask that you provide a recent photograph of the object being offered as well as complete information on the work.

We cannot assess or accept unsolicited submissions of original art delivered in person to the FAC.
