Indigenous Dance Performances

In conjunction with The Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company Production of Where We Belong, please join us this Saturday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m., for Indigenous dance performances featuring Sarah Ortegon and Colorado Native Organization Dance Troop. Sarah Ortegon, who is Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho, will be presenting the jingle dress dance, a healing dance where the dancer’s prayers are carried to the creator. Haleakala is Kanaka-Maoli, who is Lakota and Taos Pueblo, is also a jingle dress dancer. Nick Ohitika Najin, who is Mni Coujou Lakota, will be presenting a Northern Plains Traditional dance, which is based on telling stories about war, hunting, and life.
Each performance is approximately 15–20 minutes long.
Free and open to the public.
