The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Behind the Scenes: Creating Outer Space on Stage

Based on the novel by Mark Haddon | Adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens
Performed on the Fine Arts Center stage Sept. 26–Oct. 20, 2019

Adapted from the best-selling novel, Curious Incident tells the story of fifteen-year-old Christopher, who has an extraordinary brain. He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he becomes determined to find the true culprit. His detective work takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

Scott RC Levy (Producing Artistic Director), Christopher Sheley (Director of Production), and Holly Rawls (Lighting Director) talk about their design process and how they brought Christopher’s world to life on stage. Sheley was recognized with a True West Award for his scenic design for the FAC production.
