CC Student Artist Installations

In celebration of the new alliance, a committee composed of FAC staff and CC faculty has selected two Colorado College students to create site-specific installations for the FAC courtyard and Smith Family Gallery.

Heart of the Mountain

Jenny Welden’s Heart of the Mountain is a site-specific installation in the Smith Family Gallery representing the foundations of textile art through the use of non-fibrous materials. These materials create a network of interlocking fragments, demonstrating the dual contributions of the natural and the sacred in a textile image.

Jake Paron

Alterne

Jake Paron’s Alterne is a site-specific living sculpture installation in the FAC courtyard using landscape as material to explore forms and spaces. The exploration of these natural yet unnatural objects are ever-changing and will in turn create, or recreate, space.
