Close to Home gathers contemporary and modern works by artists from Colorado Springs and across the region, assembled over two decades by collectors Kathleen Campbell and Rollyn Wild. Drawn from a collection acquired largely through local galleries, the exhibition reflects their deep investment in the Colorado Springs arts ecosystem and the artists, galleries, and institutions that sustain it. Weighted toward abstraction, the collection ranges across painting, sculpture, mixed media, and works on paper, offering a vivid portrait of the breadth and vitality of regional contemporary practice. For the FAC, the exhibition offers a compelling counterpoint to its own deep roots in early 20th-century regional artmaking—a reminder that the creative life of this place is very much ongoing.
