How do you experience place? Drawing from the permanent collection at the Fine Arts Center, this transformative reinstallation immerses visitors in the powerful, complex, and overlapping histories connected to the Southwest. Featuring collection highlights alongside rarely exhibited works, Gathering Place invites new perspectives and opportunities to participate in the story of this place.
Leading up to the reinstallation, the museum presents Work in Progress: Re-envisioning the Collection, an experimental series of collection-based installations designed to explore new ways of presenting and understanding the collection. Participate in the process by contributing your response to each installment through interactive activities. New works of art will be presented throughout the series in response to questions and ideas related to the upcoming reinstallation of the collection galleries.
