Guys & Dolls

A musical fable of Broadway | The perfect musical comedy

May 21, 2015 – June 14, 2015

Luck will be a Lady again as we produce what’s been appropriately called “the perfect musical comedy.” Capturing the 1930s confluence of gangsters, floating crap games and missionaries in New York City (“Runyonland”), “Guys and Dolls” continues to delight.

Based on the classic stories of Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950, and has gone on to win nine Tony Awards and the Golden Globe for Best Movie for the hit 1955 film adaptation starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Boasting an unlikely love story, unforgettable characters, hilarious situations and Frank Loesser’s timeless score, featuring such hit numbers as “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” Guys and Dolls has been called “the perfect musical,” a show that “defines Broadway Dazzle.”

The Fine Arts Center will pull out all the stops in producing this popular musical comedy in our usual grand tradition, recreating Manhattan (and Havana) of the 1930s on our stage. Scott RC Levy directs the show, which stars Jennifer DeDominici (Mary Poppins), Amy Sue Hardy (The Drowsy Chaperone), Nathan Halvorson and Cory Moosman (The Producers).
