Wait Until Dark

October 15, 2015 – November 1, 2015

A new adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher, based on the play by Frederick Knott

Don’t let Susan Hendrix’s quaint apartment fool you; hidden within is a score for which thieves and con men would kill. Employing disguise and deception, two newly acquainted crooks become all the more desperate and depraved, but must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion. Frederick Knott’s play inspired a film of the same name and multiple Broadway productions, earning Tony and Academy Award nominations for many of the actors involved — including the film’s star, Audrey Hepburn. This adaptation, a Colorado premiere, captures the suspense of the original work in a new time and setting.

“A Broadway hit, this masterfully constructed thriller moves from one moment of suspense to another as it builds toward an electrifying, breath-stopping final scene…a tense thriller” –NY World Telegram

Wait Until Dark — Review

“Jessica Weaver is off the chart in Wait Until Dark. Weaver could not have been more blind on the FAC stage if she performed with a blindfold. She was every bit as vulnerable, as terrified, and as composed in the face of danger as her famous predecessors. If you haven’t seen Weaver in Wait Until Dark, don’t wait.” –Bill Wheeler Review

WAIT UNTIL DARK, THEN GET YOURSELF TO THE FAC

“The words that come to mind when I think of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center’s current production of Wait Until Dark: exciting, breath-taking, scary, macabre. Also insightful, dramatic, and smart. And funny. Creepy. Fast paced. Unrelenting. Cool.” –Kelly McAllister Review

BWW Review: FAC’s WAIT UNTIL DARK an Engrossing Thriller

“The climax…is magnificently staged and drew many horrified shrieks from unsuspecting audience members. So whether you’re into jump scares or slow-building tension, this show has something to tingle your spine.” –Broadway World Review
