Talkback & Reception: David Mamet’s Oleanna

October 1 @ 5:00 pm

David Mamet’s Oleanna is an uncomfortably relevant play exploring gender, authority, power, and education through a series of increasingly fraught conversations between a university professor and his student. Written in 1992 in response to the Anita Hill–Clarence Thomas hearings, the play examines what happens when assumptions, personal biases, and failures of communication turn differences into divisions. The production invites audiences to reflect on their own perspectives and continue the conversation with openness and respect.

Continue the conversation with this talkback following the Oct. 1, 1 p.m. performance, accompanied by refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres. Talkback attendees may also receive a complimentary ticket to that evening’s performance of Come From Away, capacity permitting.

Free and open to the public.
