FAC Member Tour: Día de Muertos

Members: Learn about Día de Muertos with Val Ponce Najera, Cultural Educator at Aliadxs LLC. We’ll will explore the rich cultural and spiritual significance of the Day of the Dead, a deeply rooted tradition among many indigenous communities across México. Delve into the intricate process of altar making, examining its key elements, symbolism, and tradition, while learning from artist Cal Duran’s altar, specially installed at the FAC for our annual Día de Muertos event. We’ll also visit the Agents of Care gallery to view objects from the FAC’s Mexican Folk Art collection, further enriching our understanding of this vibrant annual celebration.
