Meet Our Feb/March Member of the Month: Eunice Ciaccio

FAC member for 4 years

Why did you become a member of the Fine Arts Center?

After my retirement, I moved to Colorado Springs, and it was only logical for me to join the FAC to enjoy the exhibits of this small, accessible jewel in the heart of the community. Every exhibit brings personal growth.

When did your interest in the arts begin?

From the time that I was a child. My father brought my sisters and me to the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) and we’d take Sunday afternoon drives to the Cranbrook Institute to enjoy the art.

What has been one of your favorite plays, classes or exhibits at the Fine Arts Center?

The musical Man of La Mancha was a favorite – spectacular production, and this opinion was shared by many. I very much enjoy the Learn to Look educational series by Chuck Benson and Dave Alvarez.

What is your favorite work of art at the FAC?

In your permanent collection, the Chihuly glass collection has always been a favorite. But, more than a specific piece (I avoid admitting to favorites), I appreciate the ongoing exhibit series that enriches me.

What else do you like to do for fun in Colorado Springs?

I enjoy hiking with friends; utilizing the amazing Colorado Springs library system; book club discussions; learning about community affairs and issues; singing in choir at my church.
