Family Adventure Day

Join us for Family Adventure Day! Pop in anytime between 10 a.m.–1 p.m. to check out what the Fine Arts Center offers kids of all ages. With guidance from our Bemis School of Art instructors, embrace your creative side with opportunities to draw, paint, and sculpt. It’s also Museum Free Day and the closing day for ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM, so make sure to stick around to tour the museum galleries. This event is free, and all ages and skill levels can participate!
Activity Details
- Giant paper snowflakes with Jennifer Weigand. Cut and assemble giant paper snowflakes to take home and display.
- Learn the art of paper folding with Zandra Zieman-Foster. Both adults and kids can have fun creating Origami cranes and flowers.
- Fun-filled activity using tea with Janice Olmstead. In celebration of National Hot Tea month.
- Rigamajig and surprise hands-on art activities with Colorado Springs Children’s Museum.
- Art swap with Who Gives A Scrap. Bring your donations that follow these guidelines and exchange them for crafting supplies.
- Mini dance workshops with Tashana “T.K.” Kelly. Perfect for parents and children to dance, move, and groove together. Times: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
- Live performances by Jasmine Dillavou. QUIET//RESIDENCE is a movement and poetry piece about dueling forces of nature. Performance times: 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.
- The Art of Weaving and Care of Textiles in the FAC museum. Observe how artworks are prepared for long-term storage and watch a weaver at work on the loom to discover how they’re made.
- Paper weaving. Try your hand at weaving through a fun family-friendly craft for all ages.
- Jewelry-making with S.O.S. Autism. Celebrate what makes you unique! Select from an assortment of colorful beads that speak to you and then string them together with the letters that spell your name.
- Food and drink will be available for purchase.
